Miracle Society

Help make dreams come true by giving back to Memorial Hospital, where our community comes to bring our children into the world and care for them throughout their lives.

The Miracle Society is an annual giving club for young community leaders to support the healing ministry of Bakersfield Memorial Hospital. Members contribute $500 each year. All funds raised go directly towards a project which Miracle Society members select for that year.

Our members have heartfelt reasons for their support. One of our members wrote: “Why do I want to be a part of the Miracle Society? I was fortunate enough to have both of my children at Memorial Hospital and am so blessed that Dr. Finberg and all the nurses were so wonderful. I believe there are so many couples in Bakersfield who have their own story of how Memorial Hospital helped them. I want our birthing center and where I take my children for emergencies to be the best it can possibly be and want every parent to experience the same treatment we had in their time of need.”

The Miracle Society meets two times per year for an evening reception or dinner. The second meeting celebrates completion of the project chosen that year.

Since 2014, the Miracle Society has funded a Neonatal ICU Family Room for the families of our tiniest patients and sleep chairs for parents who stay overnight with their children in the hospital.  In 2019, the group donated funds to purchase a Linet Bed, which is an integral part of nursing skills training and patient safety enhancement.

By joining together in philanthropy, members support life-saving technology and services at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital.

Member support opportunities will include the Lauren Small Children’s Center, the Sarvanand Heart & Brain Center, the Robert A. Grimm Children’s Pavilion for Emergency Care, Maternal & Family Care, The Grossman Burn Center at Memorial and the full range of emergency, surgical and other services.

The Miracle Society helps make miracles happen every day at Memorial Hospital.
