Bakersfield Memorial Hospital Foundation’s mission is to contribute to the quality of life for the people in our community by funding healthcare technology and services at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital.

Bakersfield Memorial Hospital Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 1981 to raise funds for the first patient tower at Memorial Hospital which opened in 1987. Since then, the BMH Foundation has grown and established many worthy projects and raised millions of dollars, all to assist the hospital, its employees and most importantly of all - the patients.

As a result of sustained local support, BMH continues to grow to meet the needs of the community.  Numerous expansion and remodeling projects have been completed through the years.  These improvements have transformed BMH into the regional medical center it is today.  Bakersfield Memorial Hospital is a 418-bed acute-care tertiary medical center offering a full range of services including the Lauren Small Children's Medical Center, the Central California Heart Institute, cardiovascular, neurological/neurosurgical and orthopedic services, a nationally-certified Stroke Center, expanded maternity and family care, 24-hour emergency care and general/outpatient surgery.

The Lauren Small Children's Medical Center offers comprehensive pediatric care with services including a 31-bed Level II NICU, eight-bed PICU and a 20-bed Pediatric Unit with 24/7 in-house pediatricians (hospitalists).

In 2013, Memorial will open the Children's Pavilion for Emergency Care.  Designed specifically for pediatric patients, the Pavilion will feature a separate emergency room entrance, waiting area and specialized treatment area just for children.
